Maharani CHIMNABAI STREE UDYOGALAYA’, a 105-year-old vocational training institute overlooking Sur Sagar has over the years worked hard to educate and engage lower income women to make a difference in their life and society. Founded in 1914 the trust is one of the earliest self governing women charitable organisation in the country, working towards empowering women. Internationally acclaimed singers Sachin Limaye and Ashita Limaye, along with their troupe, will be enchanting audiences with their vocal prowess over the 9 days. With their long standing career of 25 years, they have been at the forefront of classical and traditional Gujarati singing. They specialise in a unique Baroda style sugam Garba and have some great talent in their team. Seema Patel and Himanshu Makwana will bring a robust folk flavour to the entire garba with their strong voices while younger generation singers like Parth Doshi and Kavya Limaye will add a young contemporary touch and strike a chord with the younger generation. Through the singing talent with its various age groups we plan to introduce tradition in a fun way to the younger generation as well.
